Cala Jasper Necklace with Cowrie Shell Pendant

This one is for the purists. There's a restraint to it that we were deliberate about. Flat picture jasper heishi discs in warm tawny browns, each one slightly varied in its natural patterning, strung together into a necklace that feels almost woven, like something textile rather than stone. It sits close to the neck with an easy, effortless weight that we find ourselves returning to again and again when designing. Some pieces announce themselves. This one settles in.

The pendant is where we allowed ourselves a single moment of surprise: a spotted cowrie shell, its natural brown-and-white markings doing more than any embellishment could, crowned with a single malachite cabochon. That one green note is everything; the unexpected that makes the expected feel considered. It's a combination that shouldn't work quite as well as it does, earth and ocean, stone and shell, and yet here we are.

We think of this as an off-duty necklace. The one you wear on a boat, or to a long lunch, or simply because you haven't taken it off since you put it on. But then again, you can also keep it on as you transition into a dinner outing! The moments are spontaneous, and endless.
